Meet Chiropractor Dr. Corey Fiske

Calgary Chiropractor, Dr. Corey FiskeGetting Back in the Game With Chiropractic

At age 15, I was in a competitive hockey tournament. A low back injury sent me to the sidelines. My mom took me to see her chiropractor, the well-known Dr. Lyle Whitney. After receiving treatment, not only was I able to play pain-free but I was able to play some of my best hockey ever for the rest of the tournament. Though family doctors recommended back surgery, I never needed it.

Chiropractic was the most effective treatment for my low back problem. It’s a simple concept that makes sense. The results I’ve seen firsthand in my years of practice continue to amaze me.

Moving to California and Returning Home

I traveled to California to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic West. I chose it over Toronto, which had the only chiropractic college in Canada at the time. Over the years, many family and friends enjoyed visiting me in California. During chiropractic school, I studied anatomy, biochemistry, X-ray, and adjusting techniques, and spent hours in the student clinic seeing patients.

Upon my graduation, I remained in California to practice. Eventually, however, it was time to return to Calgary and be closer to family. At Fifth Avenue Place Chiropractic & Massage, we welcome all ages. In particular, I love to see babies and children who might be suffering from common ailments such as colic. Others come into the clinic at the start of the week unable to walk normally. A couple of days later, they have hope to return to their normal activities.

I was born in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan. My formative years were spent playing golf, hockey and baseball. In my spare time, I coach hockey and continue to play golf today. I also enjoy the occasional tennis match.

My love of travel has taken me all over the world. Some of the most memorable events are golfing the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland, bungee jumping off of the Kawarau Gorge Suspension Bridge in Queenstown, New Zealand and making new friends at the Hofbräuhaus in Munich, Germany. Some of the unique and educational places I have traveled to include Egypt, Israel, Palestine, and Bangkok.
