Why Are Squats Important in a Workout?

Capture

Why is having a strong squat so important as we get older? One of the leading causes of death and disability is falling. When we fall we can break large bones, lose mobility and suffer other complications such as hospitalization. The squat is a fundamental movement that controls our descent to the ground. It involves a lot of muscular power and large muscles in the body, all of which decline at least 5% per decade after 30. However, this decline can be slowed down and preserved with heavy resistance exercise. Have any questions regarding squats and falls? Let us know.
